Join Tullahoma Parks and Rec, along with Dr. Michael Bradley on a guided bus tour of the Battle of Franklin!
The fee of $55 per person includes all transportation, lunch, admission and tours for Rippavilla Plantation and Carter House.
We'll depart Tullahoma at 8am and go to Columbia, where we'll pick up the trail into Franklin, beginning with a guided tour of the Rippavilla plantation (which will likely be decorated for Christmas). After the tour ends, we'll board the bus and head to Winstead Hill Park in Franklin, where we'll do a walking tour of the monuments and fortification where the battle started from.
We'll have lunch at the park and then head to the Carter House in Franklin and learn about the role it played in the battle. There is still evidence from fighting on the grounds of the home that you'll see, along with their museum.
After that we'll head to the Franklin Battlefield park where you'll be able to tour the grounds and see the cemetery. Also as an option, you can tour the Carnton Plantation on the battlefield site for an extra $12. (your option at the site, not part of our package).
On a side note, we'll be visiting these one day after the 154th anniversary of the battle, so there may be some extra activities available at the sites due to the anniversary weekend. This will be an amazing historical trip you won't want to miss! Call us at 455-1121 for more information and to register.
